You can use my PGP public key to send me an encrypted email or to verify that a PGP signed message really comes from me. Most modern email programs, in any operating system, are able to handle this automatically.

Public key cryptography is an excellent way to keep your privacy. Bear in mind that email can be easily read by third parties, such as your boss or the university where you work.
